The CLASS customer service phone team receives a steady stream of requests for help and guidance. For example, some of the most common questions that families ask are...

Q:
What is the difference between the CLASS Plan, Family Plan, and curriculum kits?
A: Curriculum kits are available from Christian Liberty Press, which is our publishing ministry. Kits are just a box of materials that are based on the standard materials used in CLASS. A kit can be a good value for an independent homeschooler who has a student who is performing at grade level in every subject, and who wants a complete curriculum for a very low cost. The courses in the kits are not adjustable. Independent home schooling families who want a curriculum based on standardized testing, may be best served by the Family Plan. In the Family Plan, we develop the initial curriculum after the student has been evaluated with the California Achievement Test. In addition, if the curriculum needs to be fine-tuned, the family can exchange any materials that are too easy or difficult for the student after they receive the materials. This gives you all of the advantages of the CLASS Plan without having to submit any work to us. In the Family Plan you keep your own academic records. The CLASS Plan includes the same attention to curriculum development as the Family Plan, except that we will make sure your student is on track to earn our diploma. In the CLASS Plan, the homeschooled student is considered to be enrolled in our school. We also keep records of grades and credits for transcripts, and award diplomas upon successful completion of 8th and 12th grades. Certificates of Enrollment are also available.

Q:
When should I enroll? When will my student's year start?

A: CLASS is very flexible. You may enroll at any time. Your year begins when we ship your materials and ends four quarters later. Our quarter ending dates are always the same: Oct 31st, Jan 27th, April 7th, and June 16th. For example, if we ship your materials on June 1st, your end date would be June 16th of the following year. While we allow a full year to complete each grade level, you decide your own schedule. The course load is equivalent to a typical 9 month course load found at any good Christian academy. Some students can complete a grade level in four to six months, while other may choose to take nine or even twelve months. In addition, you may re-enroll for the next grade level before all the coursework has been graded. You need not wait for a final report card to move on. We also try to help our re-enrolling families by offering an Early Bird enrollment opportunity in the spring. If a family re-enrolls during Early Bird, their end date will be October 31st of the following year. This allows parents to get organized throughout the summer and not have to worry about getting behind.
