You might think that the director of the CLASS homeschool program would have to be a very spiritual guy. I imagine myself getting up before sunrise, and praying and reading the Bible for an hour before doing anything else, but—truth be told—that doesn’t happen often. I’m prone to get up in the morning at the last possible moment, brush my face and wash my teeth, and rush off to work. I recognize that my day gets off to a better start when I do begin it with prayer and Bible reading. Presenting oneself to the Lord and listening to His counsel is the best way to begin any enterprise, and the best way to proceed along the way. Before you and your children open your schoolbooks tomorrow, I invite you to open the Word and pray. Setting out in His strength makes it much more likely that your homeschooling will prosper.
