In Genesis chapter one God speaks of making man in His image. He commands man to be fruitful, to multiply, to fill the earth and to subdue it. As God’s people, we are called to exercise biblical dominion over the earth.
In order to foster attitudes and actions of dominion, CLASS encourages student participation in various competitions. In whatsoever we do, we are to do all to the glory of God. The presentation of God’s truth, in a variety of formats such as art or writing, is vital in all societies and no less in our society today. To glorify God through the presentation of various art forms and to promote the development of skills, CLASS presents these competition pages. It is our hope that others will be inspired to be involved in future competitions and glorify God with heart, mind, soul, and strength.
This year’s theme:
Grand prize is $300.00. First prize awarded to the winners of the other two categories is $100.00. All participants will receive a small gift from CLASS.
All entries must be postmarked no later than Saturday, April 19, 2008.
Winning projects will be displayed on the CLASS website on Monday, May 19, 2008.

Entries will be eligible in the following three categories:
|
1.

The competition is open to all currently-enrolled students in either the CLASS Administration Plan or the Family Administration Plan. |
2.
|
Art projects will be accepted in oils, watercolor, ink, charcoal, pencil, or colored pencil. Work done in crayon or on lined paper will not be accepted. |
3.
|
Submissions should include the student’s name, student ID, high quality wallet-size photo of student, brief biographical sketch, and category of entry. |
4.
|
All decisions of our art judges will be final. |
5.
|
If the artist wishes his artwork to be returned, he must send it to CLASS in an appropriate, sturdy, reusable container and include a check for $15.00 to cover shipping and handling. |
6.
|
CLASS will exercise reasonable care in handling and securing artwork, but cannot be responsible for loss or damage in shipping. Do not send family heirlooms or items which have great monetary or sentimental value. If your artwork is an oil painting, you may send either the original or a full-size, full-color, high-quality print. |
7.
|
The family agrees that the student’s name, artwork, photo, biographical sketch, and state of residence may be published by CLASS.

Essays must have at minimum the number of words required for their category. The maximum number of words may not run over by more than ten percent. |

The judges will consider handwriting, spelling, punctuation, originality, style, support for conclusions, and content (handling of topic). |
5.
|
All decisions of our essay judges will be final. |
6.
|
Entries will not be returned; they become the property of CLASS. |
7.
|
The family agrees that the student’s name, essay, photo, biographical sketch, and state of residence may be published by CLASS.
